Brady Family was awarded a 3 Star Gold Great Taste Award at this years Great Taste Awards in London.The award was presented for Brady Family Glazed Ham (Easy Carve).The award winning Glazed Ham is slow cured on the bone for a rich flavour, traditionally steam cooked for succulence, glazed with brown sugar, mustard and ground cloves and flash roasted in the oven. What makes this ham unique is that the femur bone has been removed which allows ease of carving.
The Great Taste Awards are considered the ‘Oscars’ of the fine food world. A 3 star Gold awards is the highest level of award any producer can aspire to and is recognized as the definitive independent accreditation of quality and craft. The Great Taste awards are acknowledged as the benchmark for specialty food and drink. The judging standards for the Great Taste Awards are the most rigorous in the UK.
Brady Family are delighted that an indigenous Irish company has been recognized on the international stage, for a product which all at Brady Family are enormously proud.
Brady Family Receives Top Award
Local producer James Mc Geough from Oughterard, is pictured receiving an award from Trevor Sargent and David Norris at the Taste Festivals/ Euro-toques Food Awards 2008, held in The Westin Hotel, Dublin.
Euro-toques is a chefs organisation with members throughout Europe, 200 of whom are based in Ireland. The organisation promotes high quality food production and the awards honour these producers.
James Mc Geough won an award for his unique Brady Family Connemara Air Dried range of Lamb, Pork and Ham and also for his smoked meat products.
‘I am absolutely delighted to have received this award’ said James. ‘To be recognised by my piers, the top chefs in the country, as a leading artisan food producer, is a fantastic accolade’.
Brady Family launches new Artisan Range
Introducing Brady Family Connemara Air Dried Ham, an exceptional, hand made product created by James Mc Geough, master butcher. Winner of an internationally renowned Great Taste Gold Award in 2008, Brady Family Connemara Air Dried Ham is guaranteed to delight customers.
The ham is slow cured for 5 weeks using local herbs and then hung for 9 months to dry. It is smoked over beach chips for one day to give the distinctive, yet delicate flavour. Brady Family Connemara Air Dried Ham is the purest reflection of craftsmanship. The product itself is endorsed on pack by celebrity chef Clodagh McKenna.
Brady Family unveils it’s new logo
Brady Family, the award winning traditional Irish ham brand, has unveiled its new look, incorporating a new enhanced logo. This new logo emphasises the real tradition and craft associated with Brady Family ham, while simplifying and highlighting the Brady Family brand name, in both its current range of carved ham and the new parchment offering.We believe that the brand will now have a stronger on shelf presence, making it easier for you to find our products!

Brady Family Wins gold at the Great Taste Awards 2008
Brady Family has been awarded a gold medal at the Great Taste Awards 2008. The award was presented for its Oak Smoked Ham on the Bone, which is renowned for its traditional taste and flavour.The Great Taste Awards are the most prestigious gourmet food awards in the UK and Ireland and are organised by the Guild of Fine Food.
Supporting Local Charity: Brady family supports local Co. Kildare charity
Barretstown, Serious Fun, supports children with cancer and other serious illness. Children from Ireland and other European countries, take part in weekly camps. Barretstown Serious Fun provides a ‘programme of adventure, activities and fun – backed by the medical world - which helps children with serious illness regain their confidence and self-esteem and has become internationally recognised as having a profound and positive impact on their lives’.Brady Family play’s its part in this worth cause by supplying Barretstown with various cooked hams every week for the children’s meals.
